I love Mangosteen!!
If this is a thing why do doctors not prescribe it… Or at the very least recommend it?
I’m guessing few of them have heard of it as being any kind of viable treatment yet. But the add has basis in truth; Mangosteen has several medicinal uses both from ingesting and using topically (mostly as a laxative, and for skin rash), and it’s rich in antioxidants and xanthones. One of these xanthones, alpha-mangostin, has been shown to induce apoptosis in Leukemia and colon cancer cells in test tube experiments, but I have no idea exactly if/what kind of studies and/or studies have been done on humans. Perhaps it hasn’t even been proven to be effective when taken orally. I assume it’s still something still being researched, such as the anti-cancer effects of Cannabis oil. There have been a lot of promising discoveries and advances made since the turn of the 21st century, but yet we’re still without a cure. Really hope Big Pharma isn’t responsible for this.
